Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, congratulates Second Lieutenant Detimbir Chia Diko, on his successful graduation from the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, and his commissioning into the officers cadre of the Nigeria Army, yesterday.
Governor Ortom acknowledges the determination, resilience and hard work which led to the realization of the dreams of the young man to become a military officer.
He stresses that the people of the state are proud of 2nd Lt Diko, at age 14, used his initiative, youthful energy and resourcefulness to lead other youths and residents of Mbakunu community in Shangev-ya in Kwande Local Government to rescue survivors of the Ngokugh military plane crash on September 17, 2006.
Governor Ortom states that the realization of the dream of the young officer underscores the fact that God blesses and causes genuine ambitions which are backed by determination and resilience to prosper.
He urges other youths in the state to emulate the exemplary conduct of 2nd Lt Detimbir Chia Diko and his determination to achieve lofty heights in life.
The Governor acknowledges and appreciates the strength of character of the young military officer, and all those who made sacrifices to support him to achieve his dreams.
He prays that God may grant him a successful military career and bless all who have made various contributions to the realization of his ambition.
