Goals from Godwin Obaje who scored twice in the 27th and 71st minutes as well as Suleiman Mohammed’s headed goal in the 40th minute saw defending champions FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeating ABS FC by 3-0 in the AITEO Cup quarter final first leg clash played at the fortress of the FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium, Nnewi on Wednesday.

Obaje opened scoring for the hosts on the 27th minutes by converting from 12 yards after he was hacked down by Franklin Ebuka in the box. Suleiman Ogodo Mohammed doubled the Warriors led in the 40th minute as he converted a low cross inside the area from Bright Onyedikachi.

In the second period, Obaje would go on to put the game beyond the visitors as he rose highest to nod in a deep cross from Osanga King to seal an emphatic display.

With the result, The Anambra Warriors will now travel to Ilorin for the return leg billed for this Saturday hoping to consolidate on the performance and sealing a place in the Semi Finals of the money spinning Aiteo Cup Competition.
