The Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose says government will get to the root causes of police brutality, harassment and intimidation of innocent Ekiti people at Ayetoro and Oye Ekiti.
He made this known during an interactive session with the affected people that were detained and charged to court by Police officers at Ayetoro Ekiti after killing two indigenes of the town by two alleged drunk custom officers.
According to them instead of charging the culprits to court, the police officers went ahead to arrest innocent people of the town on the pretence that they attacked there police station.
The Governor ordered the Director of Public Prosecution, Mr Gbenga Daramola to take over the matter and feed him back.
He noted that the case would not be swept under the carpet. Meanwhile, the Governor said government would foot the bill of the third victim of Ayetoro incident One Mrs Bukola Aboko who is on danger list.
He ordered the CMD EKSUTH to ensure the treatment of the victim on the bill of State Government.
Still on Mrs Aboko, the Governor invited International Federation of Women Lawyers Ekiti State chapter to take over her case. The woman’s pregnancy was terminated after the alleged culprits vehicle rammed into her shop at Aiyetoro.
