Committee Chairman of the Enugu State House of Assembly on Education, Science and Technology, Hon Matthew Ugwueze has given a clean bill of health to the management and governing council of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu over allegation of compulsory collection of N40,000 hostel fee from fresh students whether provided with hostel accommodation or not.
Ugwueze said that following concerns raised by some public affairs commentators in one of the radio stations based in Enugu, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Edward Ubosi mandated his Committee to conduct investigative hearing on the matter.
The lawmaker, who represented Igbo-Eze South state constituency, stated that after speaking with parties involved and going through documents presented, his committee came to a conclusion that the allegation was not true.
